Trust & safety
Built so parents can say yes.
Your date of birth at sign-up decides everything else. We never ask players to set their own restrictions, and the rules are enforced on our servers, where the app can't bypass them.
- Games
- Non-violent and casual titles only: Chess, Ludo, runners, racing. Mature titles are hidden entirely.
- Chat
- Quick messages only, such as Ready and Good game. Free text, voice, video, and DMs are blocked on the server.
- Prizes
- Badges, XP, and physical vouchers. No money in, no money out.
- Privacy
- Profile hidden from public view and rankings. Country is not shown. Gamer tags only.
- Consent
- A parent or guardian must approve the account before the first competition.
- Games
- Teen-rated titles like EA FC, eFootball, Brawl Stars, and Rocket League.
- Chat
- Filtered text. Phone numbers, emails, social handles, off-platform invites, and profanity are blocked. No voice or video.
- Prizes
- Airtime drops and vouchers to the registered number. No cash wallet.
- Consent
- Guardian approval required, as child data-protection laws require for anyone under 18.
- Games
- The full library, including CODM, Free Fire, PUBG Mobile, and Mortal Kombat.
- Chat
- Open text chat, with moderators able to step in.
- Prizes
- Cash pools paid to card or mobile money, after any local withholding tax.
- Organizing
- Adults can run community events for any tier. Brackets never mix tiers.
Age can't be edited
Date of birth is locked after sign-up. Changes need support and ID, so no one can age up to reach cash events.
Rooms never mix tiers
Every bracket, lobby, and match room belongs to one tier. An adult can't message a minor on MetaDuels.
Minimal data
We keep only what we need to run accounts safely, handled under data-protection laws such as GDPR and COPPA.
Fair play
Skill competitions, never betting.
Only the players in a match compete for its prize. Results come from player skill, which keeps MetaDuels outside gambling rules.
What we never allow
- Spectator betting or wagering on other players
- Raffles, lucky draws, or random prize drops
- Loot boxes or paid chance mechanics
How results are verified
- Both players report. If the reports match, the result is final instantly.
- If they don't, both upload end-screen screenshots.
- A moderator reviews the evidence and locks the result. False reports earn strikes, and three strikes pause the account.
Chess, Brawl Stars, and Clash Royale sync automatically from public APIs.
Payments & escrow
Built so nobody can quietly move your money.
The same protections apply to outside attackers, insiders, and the company itself.
Segregated custody
Player money sits in trust accounts at licensed card acquirers and mobile-money operators such as Stripe, Paystack, Flutterwave, and Safaricom Daraja, walled off from company funds.
A wallet is just a number
Your wallet number is an account reference. Balances are calculated from a double-entry ledger, and money only moves when a verified result or your own request releases it.
Tamper-evident ledger
Every entry is signed and chained to the one before it, and the chain head is timestamped on a public blockchain. Editing or deleting a single cent breaks the chain and freezes payouts.
Card data never touches us
Card numbers and CVCs go straight from your browser to the processor's secure fields. We store only a token and the last four digits, and 3-D Secure confirms every new card.
Withdrawal locks
Withdrawals need your password. New payout methods wait 24 hours, daily limits apply, and large withdrawals need a second staff member to approve them.
Dollars, shown locally
Entries and prizes settle in US dollars so exchange rates never shrink a pool. You see amounts in your own currency. Platform fee is 15% (5% on community events), plus local withholding tax where the law requires it.
This build runs payments in sandbox mode. No real money moves.
